Costume Ideas

Everyone should start thinking about costumes. You all will be responsible for assembling your own costumes and providing make up. I'm posting some pictures here to give you ideas but these are only suggestions. I'm not going for realism with the animal costumes, just the suggestion of the animals. So the Kangaroos don't need to look like kangaroos, the Wickershams don't need to look like monkeys. Be creative. The important thing is that we're bright and colorful. Let the costumes help bring out your character.

I'd like all Whos to dress in yellow. Notice that they aren't all identical in the pictures. The characters stuck to a theme but added their own touches. Please feel free to do the same.

I'd like all costumes to be available by April 1. No, I'm not fooling! We'll have a costume crew that can help you if you have trouble finding things or need help with construction. Please, START EARLY AND ASK FOR HELP!

I'm trying to complete the full schedule for the remainder of our rehearsals. It's complicated because we only get to rehearse with Ms. Hoffman one day a week. So please, it's very important that you attend all rehearsals and come prepared. We have a lot to do and the time will fly by. You all are doing a great job and I know we're going to have a great show, but everyone is going to have to work really hard. Thanks for all you're doing. I'll have costume ideas and a full rehearsal schedule up in the next couple of days. Keep up the great work.

Parent Information Meeting

I've scheduled a parents' meeting for Wednesday, Februrary 22nd, at 7 p.m. in the black box. I'll be talking about the logistics of the show and recruiting volunteers to help with things like costumes, makeup, props, publicity, and supervision. Please let me know if you can't make the meeting but you'd like to help out in some way. Producing a play is a huge job, and I'll need all the help I can get.
